Thomas Global Systems and Lockheed Martin Collaborating to Shape the Future of Airborne VPX I/O Capability
- Lockheed Martin has awarded Thomas Global Systems a contract to deliver next-generation VPX I/O capability
- Contract will leverage benefits of new AUKUS License-Exempt Environment
IRVINE, California, and SYDNEY, Australia – Thomas Global Systems is working with Lockheed Martin to deliver next-generation computing input/output (I/O) capability for undisclosed platforms. Thomas Global Systems will develop and supply Lockheed Martin with new I/O technology enabling higher-performance data processing and more reliable communication, ensuring seamless and secure operations in challenging environments. This new capability will enhance customer’s capabilities for the United States, Australia, and partner nations.
The collaboration will leverage the benefits of the new AUKUS license exemptions, enabling Thomas Global Systems to efficiently utilize resources and capabilities across its US and Australian businesses. Lockheed Martin and Thomas Global Systems are among the pioneering companies to benefit from the License-Exempt Environment, which permits the vast majority of commercial, defense and dual-use trade between the US, UK and Australia to be authorized in accordance with the permitted exemptions. Working together, Thomas Global Systems is committed to maximizing the opportunities presented by AUKUS for faster, more innovative and efficient defense technology cooperation.

Thomas Global Systems LLC is a US Small Business, located in Irvine, California and will lead this new contract, supported by the company’s Australian team. The contract is set to commence in Q4 2024 and is anticipated to be completed by mid-2026.
