Thomas Global’s TFD-7000 Series LCD Flight Displays now certified for Boeing 767 in Japan
IRVINE, California and SYDNEY, Australia: Thomas Global Systems has received Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval for the company’s TFD-7000 Series plug-and-play LCD flight displays for Boeing 767 CRT-equipped aircraft.
JCAB approval of the TFD-7000 Series for Boeing 767 follows FAA Technical Standard Order (TSO) and STC approvals last year for Boeing 757/767 and 737-3/4/500, and more recent approvals from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Deliveries to a prominent operator in Japan are scheduled to begin later this year.

TFD-7000 Series displays offer the only plug-and-play LCD solution available today for Boeing 757/767 and 737 Classic aircraft. The TFD-7000 retrofit captures all the benefits of LCD technology in a proven solution with added functionality and growth capacity for emerging airspace requirements, while avoiding a major flight deck modification with its associated aircraft downtime and crew retraining costs.
The TFD-7076/7066 plug-and-play LCD solution replaces legacy Collins Aerospace EDU-776/766 CRT displays currently installed on Boeing 757, 767, and 737 Classic flight decks. The TFD-7076/7066 LCD displays are both interchangeable and intermixable with the existing legacy EDU-776/766 CRT displays, are installable on overnights or at the gate, and are fully compatible with the EFIP-701 and EAP-701/3 Boeing symbol generators.
With JCAB STC approval completed, Thomas Global is proceeding with approvals and validations with other foreign regulators.
